IELTS Speaking Interview

Do children like animals?

It all depends, I assume. There are some who love animals and then there are even those who are scared of them and not like them. Also, there are some who like to irritate animals just for the sake of fun.

What kind of animals do you think children like?

I think for most part, children love dogs and cats. Because these are the animals children can have lot of fun with. They can play and roam about with them.

What was your favourite animal when you were a child?

I was not a very particular animal lover as a child. I used to get irritated when people annoyed or irritated animals, but going out and playing with them was not my idea of having fun.

IELTS Speaking Interview

Did you have any pets when you were a child?

Yes, my father got a dog for us as we were child. But, I remember he was so aggressive that we rarely played with it. He used to kept only for guarding the house. However, later on when he started recognizing us he allowed us to come near him. I remember, my brother actually bonded a lot with him and so when he died it was a true shock for my brother.

What do you think are the benefits of a child having a pet?

I think a child learns a lot from a pet, especially unconditional love and that is really important. In times when people just do things for the benefit of doing it, a pet teaches you that apart from the money and the fame and the success there are so many other things which are important in life.

IELTS Speaking Interview

If you have children in the future, will you allow them to raise a pet?

Definitely yes. I think having a pet in the house is very important because it allows the kids to learn about love, patience, respect and so much more. It brings happiness and togetherness and tells you that no matter if the other person is more or less powerful you should stand for the right.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Travelling has been one of the things I have on my to-do list for a long time. Visiting new places and meeting people is what gives me a kick and I wish to do it. Living in a northeastern state of my country, there are many things I can explore and have on my list.

A few years back, I hitch-hiked to a place near Bhubaneswar, Puri. Although the trip was amazing, I felt it could have been better in the company of my loved ones. Since then, I have been trying to convince my friends to travel along with me to places like Kolkata, Vishakapatnam. But, we all are failing in keeping up with the exciting plans that we make. Sometimes because of work pressure, other times because of priority differences.

I remember having extended the plan of going to Kolkata for now around 6 months. But, with the coming of New Year, the resolution is to make sure that I travel more with my friends and sometimes make new friends along the journey.

Recently, I visited a travel website, make my trip that allows people from different places to come together and enjoy new places. On telling this plan to my friends, some of them have agreed on to it. And, we are hoping to travel the east of India in the next 6 months this year.

PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS

Do you think it is important for a person to have a career plan?

Yes, it is very important for a person to have a career plan. A career plan gives a person something to look forward to. He can then plan his education according to that career plan.
Without a plan, any work seems meaningless. So, it is very important to have a plan. Sometimes, a person may change his plan midway, but all the same without a plan taking any
step ahead is impossible.

How do most people plan their future education and their future career?

Most people plan their future education and career by talking to their parents, teachers, career counsellors and by consulting some people who are already in the same career.

IELTS Speaking Interview

Do you think it’s important to include the factor of one’s salary in a career plan?

Yes, salary is a very important factor in a career plan. It is generally seen that in the early stages of one’s life, money is needed for everything. One cannot go for a career, which doesn’t pay well in the early stages. Later on in life, one can go for a career, which one loves even if it doesn’t pay well.

Do you think planning is important or is it a waste of time?

Planning is very important. It is definitely not a waste of time. If things are done without
planning, then it wastes a lot of time because most of the effort may go in the wrong direction and prove futile.

What kinds of personal plans should people make for themselves?

People should make plans about their studies, about their careers, their finances, about their married life, about places they want to visit, and about their retirement.
