What is your favorite festival?
I have to say, Mid-Autumn Festival would be my favourite festival. Like the name suggests, this festival takes place in the middle of Autumn, which is August 15th according to the Lunar Calendar. I love all the special treats during this holiday, especially moon cakes.
What is the most popular Vietnamese festival?
Well, the most popular Festival in Vietnam is the Lunar New Year Festival. It’s the time for family reunion as people who work far away from home can get to spend some valuable time with their loved ones after a long year of being separated.

Do you like western festivals?
Honestly, I only know a little about Western Festivals, but I guess the one I find most interesting would be Halloween. You know, it’s just a lot of fun to see people dressing up with many different creative costumes. If I had a chance, I would definitely want to celebrate it in other countries to see what it’s like.
Who gave you your name?
When it came to choosing my name, it was my dad who had the final word. Actually, most of my family members including my mom and my grandparents agreed with the name as well.

Does your name have any particular (or, special) meaning?
Yeah, it does. My name means being dutiful towards parents. I think this name is very popular in my country because there were always at least two people with the same name as me in every class that I went to.
Do you have any special traditions about naming children?
I think in Vietnam, meanings of names are very important and are believed to determine a child’s destiny. Therefore, most Vietnamese people will give a nice sounding and meaningful name, reflecting the hope of a bright future for their child.

I would like to describe a coat my parents gave me as a present on my 18th birthday. I must say that it is really smart and exactly to my liking.
The coat is made of cotton only and by a Vietnamese clothes brand. It is a knee-length black coat, which was in fashion at that time. What I like the most is that there are two deep side pockets, so in winter, I always put my hands into those pockets to avoid the cold. Besides, I can button the coat from top to bottom and it’s also got a decorative waist belt.

I am so fond of this coat that I usually wear it every winter. It fits me perfectly and makes me feel comfortable and warm, no matter how cold the weather is. I keep myself warm by wearing the coat with jeans and boots, which match it well.
In fact, I have never thought whether it will be out of fashion. As this coat is a gift from my parents, I treasure it a lot and – for sure – I will keep wearing this coat in the future.

How your friends influence your shopping choice?
Friends suggest me things to buy. My friends are very brand conscious. So, they keep a lookout on the various offers by various branded stores. For example, recently, there was an offer on Levis jeans. Two jeans were free on purchase of one. So, we bought one for Rs. 3000/ and got two free. Each one had to pay only 1000/ for the Levis jeans.

What should parents do when their children ask for things their friends have?
Parents should make the children understand the difference between needs and desires. Parents should also be transparent about the affordability and family budget limitations so that children become more responsible and don’t demand things from their parents only because of peer pressure.
Why do people buy things that are not necessary?
People sometimes buy things that are unnecessary because of their materialistic nature. It could also be due to peer or societal pressures. Sometimes people may stock things in the hope that it is something that they may need in the future.
