Paranormal: impossible to explain by known natural forces or by science
Sentence: Do you believe in the paranormal and other psychic phenomena?
Disquieting: inducing feelings of anxiety or worry
Sentence: The letter gave disquieting news of the war.
Ghoulish: ugly and unpleasant, or frightening:
Sentence: she told the story with ghoulish relish
Ghastly: causing great horror or fear.
Sentence: There is no way for us to escape this horrible, ghastly death.
HORROR VOCABULARY
haunting: beautiful, but in a sad way and often in a way that cannot be forgotten
Sentence: He was troubled by haunting memories of the war
Dread: great fear or apprehension
Sentence: I was filled with dread at the thought I might forget my lines
phantasm: something that is seen or imagined but is not real
Sentence: he boy thought he saw a ghost, when it was simply a phantasm he perpetuated out of fear.

Sinister: especially evil or leading to evil : bad
Sentence: there was something sinister about that murmuring voice
Cadaver: a dead human body
Sentence: There is a cadaver in the morgue that is missing a liver.
Goblin: a small, ugly creature that is harmful to humans
