SAMPLE ANSWER
Information technology can be seen as a dominant phenomenon in our everyday home, leisure and work activities and it is said to influence a lot of our features of our lives. I believe that advantages of information technology outnumber the drawbacks.
Firstly, this kind of technology provides people with a possibility to stay in touch with your friends and relatives even if they live far away. People do not have to write long letters and take them to a post office only to get an answer after a long amount of time. Nowadays, we are only a click away from knowing the latest news, thus it saves a lot of precious time for other activities. Moreover, due to how quick you can get help from the police, firefighters or medical workers using a mobile phone, a lot of lives can be saved.
Secondly, information technology boosts humans’ productivity. Having huge amounts of useful gadgets around and with constantly developing technology, people can achieve their goals more quickly than ever. Computers nowadays are made to to do tedious jobs instead of humans. For instance, a variety of robots with computer chips cuts grass, guards your home, waters plans in gardens and parks. Therefore, people are able to use this extra time for pursuing their career, dreams, spending more time with families.
On the other hand, information technology negatively impacts our social life. It is very easy to get wrapped up in the social media and not notice how it downgrades our social skills. To illustrate, people do have as much face to face conversation since they tend to just chat online. However, it is extremely difficult to get to know another person on the Internet without a real life interaction and this can lead to a number of issues.
In conclusion, although there is a reasonable drawback, I think that information technology offers more benefits and should be more widely incorporated into our lives.
